Any cities looking to contract with Lacofd

I know Lacofd is taking over Vernon 10/21. Any other cities thinking about going county?

West Covina, La Verne, and San Gabriel all have expressed their wanting to go with LACoFD.
San Gabriel had gotten into asking for a survey by LACoFD, but I believe that has been put on hold for some reason.
La Verne has expressed interest as well.
West Covina is pushing hard to "Go County".
If you search the West Covina Council site, they may still have a YouTube vid of a meeting where the Chief outlined the pros/cons of merging.
As to how far any of these cities have gotten in the process, I'm out of the loop.

I've heard that when Vernon comes over, LA County will not be taking on Vernon's seagraves.

San Gabriel decided in November 2019 to table the issue until they see what the sales tax measure results would be in March 2020. The sales tax measure passed giving them 3 million dollars of General Fund. They have not come back to the issue probably because of Covid.
As for La Verne, at their November 2, 2020 meeting the city council authorized staff to begin negotiations with LACoFD.

West Covina is still discussing it. The finance department favors going to county.

res51cue .. point of clarification, the City Council voted 4 to 1 to have a full, complete feasibility study done, weighing all the available options, to include whether the county can or cannot include keeping La Verne Station 3 open. Once the study is complete, then the council will review and make recommendations whether to vote to go with it, and "then" begin negotiations. You're looking at a 12-16 month process if it comes to fruition.
